Congratulations to kdacharya for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 15 votes - View Previous Winners

As I look into the eyes of wildlife, they seem to be asking me the same questions. Questions about human greed and carelessness, about the wantonness of the human creed. Looking for answers
Where have we humans gone wrong? I am scratching my head. We do not preserve and cherish nature's bounty, we do not value human life, and now companies, businesses, families, babies, elders are dying. we are so out of balance.

Excellent images KD.

A few years ago I was talking with a renowned earth scientist at a party. He started talking about global warming and I reminded him of something out of the first day's lecture from Earth Science 101. "Earth has a way of finding equilibrium." I went on to say "This may not be good for man." He showed his frustration yet did not disagree.

Lovely images. I spend a lot of time thinking and trying to come up with one thing man has done that has improved the planet since he started walking upright. His deeds of destruction are too vast to mention but I can't think of a single thing he has done that has benefited the planet and not himself. The earth will survive once we are gone but the destruction and elimination of other species will be our most grievous transgression.

Fantastic set KD. Unfortunately, I cannot answer your questions. My rank is well below that of God.

Now that much of our country here in the U.S. and much of the world is in isolation. The Earth, without humans out and about is coming back. Waters normally dark and polluted are now clear. It's been reported recently that the earth has seemed to settle down since humans have been less active. You are correct that the Earth has a way of finding equillbrium. But it has a much easier time doing it minus humans.

Yup, couldn't agree more. I am astounded by the arrogance of the human race at times.

What a great series, thought provoking.
Especially like the shots that show expression - easier with mammals than birds. Dotty and male cub are exceptional. Jousting Asses - terrific. The short toed eagle has great eyes, penetrating. I like the gouse i flight sequence. The upset Samber is another one with great expression.
Indeed, we give lip service to providing for future generations as our short term vision saps the energy from the world we love.

National parks
Wildlife refuge
Environmentally sensitive areas
Air quality regulations
Water quality regulations
Departments of environmental quality
Clean energy initiatives

These are just a few that humans have instituted for the benefit of our lovely planet.

KD, fortunately half of those reading this know exactly where you’re coming from, but very unfortunately the other half can’t wait to kill what animals are left!
Very nice images!!!
