Normally I am drawn to these little creatures and love the bright yellow eyes and brown and white feathers, but I decided to have a go at converting this burrowing owl photo to black and white. I took this photo about 3 weeks ago when visiting in southwest Florida, but am just getting around to processing some of my images. There was so much detail around the face and eyes as well as the feathers that the black and white photo seemed to bring out. I increased the background exposure in Luminar to remove any distracting elements in the background.

Burrowing owls were my favorite wildlife targets 3 years in the row. That stern look it gave you is just awesome, Mike! I also like the B&W version. Well done!

Very nice. Even looks like a pen and ink artwork. That would make a great wall print.

Yes. I agree with the pen and artwork look. I haven't printed it yet, but I think a large print on the wall would look really nice.
