We have returned from our road trip and had a very nice time enjoying the warm weather. Now we are back to BRRR as a coldspell has set in to New York City.

Great images of the egret, Morris! At first look, I really thought the croc, the tail that is, was a fallen down fence.... .

Nice ones Morris, that gator looks like he has you lined up for dinner.

And 5 for me too - love the beautiful textures of the wings/feathers and the reflection.

Thank you Joshua,
Pretending to be a fence is a very effective way of hiding :-}

Thank you Louie,
The gator would have about a 20 yard swim and then an embankment to climb. There were closer birds

Was this the place near Brookgreen Gardens on opposite side? Folks told us they saw a gator too and that one you saw is a monster! Neat area, wished I had more time to spend there, glad you got a chance to visit

Thank you Karl,

Yes this is the place and these photos are all taken from the causeway a little past the entrance. That gator was about 12 feet so yes a big one. My wife had walked off and spotted it while I was photographing the great egret. When I looked up she signaled for me to come over. What you see is the best angle I could find to show the face and the body length.
