lol - yeah, been shooting since 1969 and you are right: people have taken or still take great portraits without eye-AF.
Probably technique is going to become a bit of a lost art.
There's a high school in a town not too far from me with a young 20-something teacher who offered a film camera/darkroom class.
She has a total of 161 students who signed up. My repair guy drummed up 30 Pentax K-1000s for her.
