Got a hot notice from my friends at Capture Integration today .

A Note From Brad Kaye: It's currently not supported for use with Capture One.

So i have a major event to shoot tethered in a few short weeks its actually dependent I HAVE to shoot tethered because its going up on screen as I shoot in front of about a thousand people. Crap

So looks like after playing around tethered it is the case and after some reading on Phase One someone mentioned LL as well. So the only work around right now is either use Sony PC remote which does work OR a drastic move to go back on reloading 10.15.1. Which I may have too do unless there is a fix soon

Huh that’s interesting. I usually wait 4-6 months before installing a new OS version regardless, as there’s almost always an associated update/patch that is produced for LR and C1 in the months following. Still working fine on C1 11

though I am finding that the last year, my a7r mk3 and z7 have been having issues getting detected when I unplug and then re-plug the cord in.

Thanks for the heads up. Catalina is a dumpster fire. Unless it has a specific feature people need there's really no compelling reason to use it over Mojave for the foreseeable future.

This is a Apple issue it seems. But Phase will have to update to match correctly Problem is automatic updates which many folks do. This about tethering only. C1 works fine in 10.15.2 or whatever it is, most

Problem now is Catalina won't run 32bit apps

Catalina broke a lot of my old software that was still working fine. It seems that with every software update since High Sierra, something stops working....

I finally dumped Apple and got a surface book a couple weeks back but they decided to screw me one last time since all my drives had been converted to APFS and none of my hard drives could be read on windows!

Anyway, after years of this non-sense, I'm done with apple for good.

Another solution would be to not teether but simply connect camera to any display through HDMI. This way they can see your pics and if you need to work on them straightway, swap SD cards and get assistant to quickly copy pics over.

Thanks. I tried it. Read speeds were horribly slow.

I ended up buying another hard drive to transfer everything onto from my old macbook.

That won't work good enough I'm in front of a live audience and I'm shooting runway. It's way to fast . I may just have to reload 10.15.1 which will suck

I'm having big issues with Capture One 20. My Macbook pro crashes every time I try to process an image. It could be something related to iOS, but haven't seen the same problem with my iMac. Apparently there are other users struggling with the latest C1 version and Phase One official answer is the classic "we are working on that".

Guy, I'v not experimented with this myself yet, and certainly not anywhere near the capabilities of C1 tethering maybe try Sony's Imaging Edge desktop *Remote shooting with Wi-Fi/USB connection to see if that can at least keep up for your real time tethering in the interim.

Imaging Edge was updated just recently so make sure to update the app on macOS Catalina.

I tried image edge remote. It's okay it can work slow though even on smallest jpeg. I could use the rental cam A7III since it's only 24mpx should be faster than the A7rIV

I may go talk to a genius today at apple. See what it takes to go back. I'll bring laptop and a clone drive. I start shooting the 5th

Look into the surface books. Post processing via a touch screen a is a dream, and while everyone is sitting here trying to make the ipad pro and all its compromises work as a PP machine, the surface devices work properly with all photography apps straight out of the box.

I'd been using macbook pros for 15 years now...pretty much since they started using Intel processors and had greater compatibility with windows apps. But lately it seems that they're trying to slowly put their apple walls around their Macs, and I dont appreciate it. Everytime these OS updates roll put, compatability with something old breaks, but you're forced to upgrade if you want compaatability with something new. Having 9TB of my data locked into their proprietary file system was the last straw for me.

I just did a quick test tethering with Tether Tool TetherPro USB cable to A7rIV and macOS Catalina. It works. I sent both RAW&JPEG for the test. Not too bad for a work around. * I tried pairing through Wi-Fi Access Point to macOS Catalina and that works too but yes pairing is too laggy IMO for a fast moving show.

Otherwise: ( although your planned apple store visit might be best)

I already do for this shoot. These are live models walking down runway displayed immediately. It needs to be immediate when working C1 flies through this. I need C1 anything else is worthless. Done this many times

I made a genius appoint and got a working backup start up. Actually on it now, so we can delete and reload to 10.15.1. Im not waiting for Phase to fix this.
