They look worried. They survived on holiday, but another is close at hand.
Yes, they always look worried. Fortunately for them hunting season is months away, but I don't think they know that.

I didn't realise how colourful wild turkeys are.
Usually turkeys look pretty dull but if they are out of the shade into some direct light they show some nice color. Unfortunately they normally hide in the shade.

You nailed the colors Dave. If the little bullit that comes out of the rifle dose so much harm, just think what must come out of a 77mm barrell!

Yes, swinging around a big lens scares them. To get photos you need to be inconspicuous and motionless.

Nice images Dave, I admire the square feathers on these fine birds who Ben Franklin pushed to be accepted as our national bird. Yes they are skittish and at the same time intriguing. It’s amusing to watch them trot.
They are skittish so most of the time I only get a distant look at them. Even the slightest motion scares them and all you get are butt shots of a trotting turkey.

You sure brought out the colors in these birds, Dave. I like the threesome best. Good work.

Thanks Rex. The light was good for a few of the shots I got. Most are dull since turkeys tend to stay in bushes in the shade.
