The harbinger of spring they are not, at least not in New York City where we see them all winter. I saw them feeding as I was out hiking in Hempstead Lake State Park. At first they flew off when they spotted me so I stood still and some of them came back. It was mostly cloudy and the sun sometimes poked through making for tricky lighting. Fill flash did help yet I still had some work to do in post. All are cropped quite a bit.
