Sometimes I wonder if Sony did it on purpose releasing a mediocre a9ii in an effort to sell a9.

They dropped the price a lot and makes it look like a great deal compared to the a9ii.

If a9ii had a new sensor with better dr, I might not upgrade to an a9 and might wait for the a9ii to drop price or for the tech to trickle down.

After the a7riv and a9ii release, I am convinced there won’t be a camera that combines a9 eshutter with good dr for the next year at least.

Sony has pulled back to the point that nothing is new. They seem to be protecting profits in the declining market.

Initially I had no intention to upgrade to the A9II but after all the “is it better or not?” stuff I decided I just have to try it so I’ve ordered one. There are some times for indoor event shooting when I could do with two anyway but chances are I’ll just end up selling my A9. I look forward to giving it a workout.
