With all respect to the memory of a fellow photographer - does this open the door to submitting work that is not one’s own if it is good and fits the theme? Can we bend the rules and pull images from our back catalog instead of shooting in the week or month of the assignment?
I also have a hard time to understand last WA submission. The photo was taken by someone else and it was taken outside the time limit. Does it mean, anybody can pick anybody's photos and posted as his WA entry? With respect to the deceased photographer, there are plenty of other forums to post such nice memento, don't think the WA is the right one.

I think the bottom 4 are all winners! Nice work folks. I saw this last week and while it was a nice tribute to an excellent photographer who also had a gift for creativity, I felt it was inappropriate to use the WA to post another persons image.
I don't think Dave spent much time in other forums interacting with the masses, so the OP might have felt this was the only place people would remember him.

Sorry all for the posting! It was not posted in the intention of winning anything. I have not visited this site in a few years. It was only intended as a tribute to Dave that posted here in this forum for many years. I know a lot of people can take these assignments pretty serious as more of a contest instead of for fun. I hope that Fred removes from the gallery; Yet, I'm not sure if Fred visits these assignment forums much at all anymore. They have been automated for many years. Postings in these assignment forums should only be taken during the timeframe noted. Once again.. my apologies. John
Imo, the gesture for homage was admirable in spirit. I think no one should think otherwise of you. But, as you can see, it did kinda muck things up a bit.
Again, admirable gesture. I'd like to think most good FM'ers can look beyond the faux pas.
