Alley Creak is a spring fed tidal creak that feeds into Little Neck Bay which is famous for it's clams. Sadly the water there is not clean enough to eat clams harvested from the area or I'd be feasting.

The greater yellowlegs was enjoying the warm sun as we were. The photos are taken as we looked down onto it from an observation platform built atop of a storage overflow outlet. New York City just invested millions building a storage tanks and pumps to send the effluent to a level 5 treatment plant a few miles away. Unfortunately, there is still outflow any time it rains and for a few days after. At least it no longer smells. Odly, there are less birds in the area since they put the holding tanks in. The golden color of the water is the reflection of the reads at the edge of the creak.

Looks like the warmth created some weird artifacts but I like the pose, reflection, and circular wave of number 5.
