Bitterns are tough to photograph. They are extremely skittish. I guess the frog menu was so tempting the bird let you get close enough for some great photographs. Excellent!

Thanks Morris. This one was in rehab after a car hit it so it became accustomed to people and seemed to be okay with a bunch of people standing 20 feet away from it as it hunted the edges of the lake. Lucky for us and at least it had a good food supply but not sure how it will do long term.
