Have you ever just gone out to shoot hoping to find something worthy of clicking on but really didn't have much hope of coming home with anything great?

But then something AMAZING happens!

I've lived in the SC Upstate for nearly 25 years and have only seen 3 Bald Eagles at long distances in all those years.

I know these shots aren't anything spectacular especially to those that get to see these guys all the time and have plenty of shooting opps. But these are among some of my most cherished shots I have gotten so far because of the rarity of these encounters here in upstate SC.

I have a few hundred more of him perched but wanted to show the tracking of the little 90D against the worst possible busy background in poor light. I think it did pretty well. I'm just happy I didn't screw it up.

Taken last evening, all handheld.

Great pictures, and I'm happy for you, Dave, to have this opportunity. I've never been lucky enough to get close to one in the wild.

Great images, Dave! The camera and lens did perform well; the AF point stuck to the target what we really like although the background is busy. The first and the last two images stand out for me.
