It's a long shot but I'm hoping for a 40mm GM. The 35mm1.4 is old and the 35mm 1.8 is well 1.8. That should leave room for a 40. Besides Sony likes to crush Zeiss lately so I hoping that continues and we see a 15/16GM and that 40GM

CV is not AF and I hate everything about the Batis design, also I want 1.4. Give me the 50mm1.4 optical quality in a smaller size with modern AF motors. The 24 and 40 would cover most of my shooting

Rather than duplicate focal lengths we already have multiple solutions for, I'd rather have Sony fill in lenses we don't have yet like a 300 f4 and 200 2.8. We have so many choices for the 35-55 range...let's put some focus on other areas.

They would be crazy to not make a GM 40 or 35 with the popularity of that focal range. The 1.8 is OK and the existing 1.4 is outdated at this point even if you are lucky and get a good copy. I could live with a 35GM update would prefer the 40 focal range.

If they are really trying to entice sports pros for the next Olympics, sports lenses like the 300 2.8 or 500 4 would be great or a 200-400 f4. It would be really cool if they could do something Canon/Nikon don't, like a 120-300 2.8 or something like that.

They can certainly make those for sure, no problem with that. But I don't see either of those selling anywhere as well as a redesigned 35GM or 40GM.

You would think a 300 2.8 has to be high on their list.

I would agree the 35-55mm range is pretty crowded, although like others I'd love to see a 40 1.4 GM.

Personally....something like a lightweight 300 f/4 or 400 5.6 that would work with TC's would make sense, as I could pair one with a 70-200, although I realize those would be low-volume sellers.

Otherwise, talks of a 100 1.4 keep coming up, I could also see a 15mm GM.

Pretty sure Nikon has announced that this lens is coming.

I've used the Sigma 120-300 on a Canon DSLR to shoot rodeos. Great focal length with nice image quality. Biggest issue was the weight of the lens. If Sony can use the latest technology to reduce the weight...this lens would be fantastic...much more usable than a 70-200 2.8.

100 f/1.4 - with same focusing system as 135. I loved this as an indoor sports lens on Nikon....
200-400 f/4 (would love it but seems highly unlikely with the 200-600 just coming out).

I agree 300 2.8 seems like it has to be high on the list as well to complete the tele range.

20-200 f/2.8 would fill in a gap in my lens lineup. My wildlife kit before the 200-600 was the 100-400 on the a9 and the 24-105 on the backup a7R3. Then along came the 200-600, and suddenly I needed two backups to cover the range of 24-600. I ruled out the Sony 24-240 because of bad reviews.
