Two observations:
A) I'm not the target audience of this camera - I don't need that instant transfer, voice memo, etc. Many of us probably wanted a new gen perhaps 36mp sensor, but that would make wifi transfer slow, ergo Sony opted to stay put.
B) Camera innovation, on the current platform, has plateaued out. With current physical designs, there isn't much more Sony and others can do to improve speed, accuracy, etc. It will now take a platform change/revolution to make substantial improvements. From now on, most camera manufacturers have to become software powerhouses and hire top talent to improve AI/ML algorithms, that is where the battle is going to be.
Given how little breakthrough innovation Sony put in this camera, I think the street price of this model will soon move significantly lower. $4,500 is too rich for what this is IMO. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it is an amazing camera, but throwing in an updated sensor, top of the line EVF/screens, etc wouldn't have been too much to ask for.
