Very nice set with #3 being a stand out for me.
Thanks for your comment. I like the pose in that shot too.

thanks so much for posting these, Dave. lovely shots. You are really making it very difficult for me, since I am considering a switch to Sony at some point. need to get the funds for the transition.
Sorry to put on the pressure. I think you will find the Sony system to be excellent for this type of image. Unfortunately the change can be expensive and the used market is pretty bad. I am losing a lot on my Canon gear.

Well done on all Dave. The last is my favorite.
Thanks Ted. The hawk just took off in that shot. The branches are just out of the frame. I like that action too.

Way to go 'skinny guy'
Impressive set at any focal length you used Dave, If you can give up f/4 and need to lighten your load at sometime the 200-600 Sony for me is impressive. I'm not much a tripod shooter ever, at most a mono pod works for me with a quick detach to drop it and go freehand.
Nice looking shots for sure!
Karl
Thanks Karl. I have the 200-600 and it is a lot easier to carry and hold. I really like fast shutter speeds so the change from f/4 at 600 or f/5.6 at 840 to f/6.3 or f/9 is hard to bear. Regardless it is an excellent lens and I am getting some good images with it. Cost wise, it's a great bargain.

I am using a shoulder stock for that lens being an older but not too skinny guy . Regardless, those are impressive images of the red-tailed, Dave!

Thanks Joshua. I have been thinking about some methods to make hand holding easier. I may need to give a shoulder stock a try.
