Haven't used it, it's just on the market really.
My first thought it was not of interest to me, my second thought after having a closer look and thinking of it some time was that it's actually really interesting.
It is mostly aimed at videographers I would say, the reason for me saying it is that the aperture ring is click less and can't be set to steps, it's just moves smooth like videographers usually want it to. It's also a superb range for videographers.
The reason it looks interesting it that it's wide enough to (mostly) replace any of the wider wide angles unless you really NEED the extreems for things like real estate, it's also long enough to cover standard focal lengths. For me, I could see it replace a wide angle zoom (like the 8-18) the standard 12-40 as well as my 25mm F1.4. While still large it would be smaller than those three and it would be quite a bit faster except at 25mm vs the 25mm F1.4.
F1.7 would make it a better astro lens compared to the 8-18 (if the picture quality is there, which it seems to be) and while the 8-18 goes from F2.8-F4 the 10-25 stays at F1.7.
At F1.7 at 25mm it would be almost as fast as the 25mm F1.4 and quite a bit faster than the 12-40 F2.8.
The weight difference would be around 200g in favor of the 10-25 but you also loose 2mm at the wide end and 15mm at the long end.
So tough choice, selling the 12-40 and 25 F1.4 wouldn't bring me anywhere close to paying for it. Add in the price of the 8-18 (that I am considering) and I would actually be closer to the territory where it might make sense though it's still an expensive freaking lens I am not sure I would use all that much since I don't use the 12-40 all that much. On the other hand I want something wider than 12 and I do love my 25mm F1.4.
Right now I am holding back slightly from too big investment in m43, I wanna see where they are heading with their over all pricing (E-M5 Mk III should give a hint).
