Hummingbirds.....wow...always so impressed when I see photos of these birds.

Your state of Louisiana has up to 15 hummingbird species each winter...in people's backyards. There are people who band the hummers - and these "vagrants" from the west coast, rocky mountains and even Central America return to the same backyards sometimes for several years in a row. How is this known? People band the hummers...and you can get a sense of what species are where by reading this listserv:
