We finally had storms roll through the Valley on the 28th, it's been a very dry monsoon season. With the storms, we had a great lightning show. These were taken to the west of Cave Creek AZ.. basically my backyard lol
All taken with the D850 +Sigma 14-24mm, long exposures to capture multiple strikes, 3-5 minutes depending on the image.

I'm with you on the suggestion... I struggled in the edit. For some reason, I just liked having the stars in the shots at the top, compositionally, I agree... a tighter crop would help the image. Appreciate the suggestion.

That's what I thought why you left it like that...but the stars are so few, it doesn't make any impact on the overall photo.
