I was convinced about the Riv's crop mode even before release when I realized in cropper the raw buffer is 200+ and that it has a higher pixel density than the a6400.

Well might have been a good idea if it had worked. Seems the copy I bought is defective after trying it with both my A6500 and A7RIV. At long focal lengths there is extreme shake and out of focus. Even at higher shutter speeds. Like there is a conflict between the IBIS and OSS of the lens. Tried turning it off and still only one shot in 10 is in focus. At the short range of 70-135mm no issue. So back it goes. Darn it.

I really liked the A6000. I sold it when I bought a 5DIV but may go back and check out the latest Sony ML bodies!

Yes, plan on using both on the Riv but I'm also setting up Poof with a traveling kit for her a6400. On this past trip she became way too fond of the 100400...I'd kinda like to get it back, handing her the 70-350G...Show more →
Maybe a quick call to Sony will clarify he warranty. The fairly recent warranty issue I had was resolved through Sony USA. Not sure we have an official Sony presence in Canada (except for an outsourced repair company)
