PSA: if you are going to buy a older used flatbed (or any scanner) and use macOS check the status of 46bit driver availability.
I have a old Epson Perfection 4490 which only has 32bit scanners. As of macOS 10.15 (released today) these drivers will no longer work. I believe Windows 10 will still support this scanner. Not sure if this scanner will work with VueScan. I have seen some good deals for some of these older scanners, such as the v500, but do not even consider because of the support. I could be wrong but worth doing some homework.
