This is an amazing place to visit with a breath taking view. My photos don't do justice to the beauty of this place and on top of that it's great for all sorts of landscape photography from sunrise to sunset to astro. As for the name the story goes that 40 people were killed in top of this mountain, a little grim yes. Hope you enjoy the photos and comments and critiques are definitely welcome.

That is quite an interesting and "airy" place!

I hope you don't mind if I use your post to illustrate something that not all FM'ers may think about. Many of us use laptops or tablets to view FM — in fact, I'd bet that the majority of the site views are from such devices along with smart phones.

Unfortunately, this limits our ability to view very large uploaded images.

With my browser window set to completely fill my laptop screen, here's what I see:

https://www.gdanmitchell.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Untitled.jpeg

I know that it is possible to use various keyboard commands to scale down the display so that the full image appears, but this also makes the text so small as to be unreadable... and then requires us to reverse that process in order to continue browsing other pages, with otherwise not appear tiny.

Most won't bother.

One option to consider would be to post smaller and include a clickable link to the larger versions.

Thanks,

Dan

No I don't mind at all and I wasn't aware that this was happening when I posted my pictures in such a way. Thanks for letting me know my friend, I'm usually uploading using my phone and it usually autoscales the image to fit properly. My question would be at what resolution should I post pictures? I will link them to my flikr account for high res post in the future.

Makes sense!

I went looking for the link to the landscape board rules (kind of hard to locate!) and found the following: "Suggested" photo size for posting is 1200px longest side.

That seems like a good compromise — large enough to see on any monitor, small enough to fit on virtually any laptop — and adding that link to the full size version will help with those who want to see it as big as you are willing to upload it!

Take care,

Dan

Nice location, I always use 1200x800 and it’s loads just fine on any device.

gdanmitchell:
Simple answer! plugin a UHD monitor to your laptop. BestBuy has 28" UHD for under $300.00

Your images are very nice, leave them as is.

You must have a very large lap. A 28" monitor doesn't fit on mine.

Suggested resolution is 1200x on the long dimension. Truth is a lot of people now are posting even larger images (myself occasionally, but never exceeding 1500x long). Some posters even go larger. Maybe Fred can comment on what is the limit and what is reasonable.
