Thanks a lot. One of the reasons I took the 400 was for the low light hours. It was just perfect for that. I used the 1.4 and the 2x tc at other times or when I needed the reach. If you have a backup for the 600mm that is a little wider, please bring it. I had the 70-200 f/2.8 on my cropped sensor as a backup. It gave me the effective of 320mm on the longer end. But given that the iso performance of the 7d mkII does not get beyond 1600 for me, I did not use it too often. My landscape camera was my Fujifilm x100t and it did do well.
