I'm missing more loxias. A 15mm for instance.

The problem with a 15mm Loxia is the 52mm filter thread restriction. We have the Voigtlander 15mm f/4.5 with a 58mm filter and already high vignetting wide open. A high IQ Loxia 15 would need to be even slower to accommodate a 52mm filter thread.
For this reason, I don't think we will see a Loxia 15mm but perhaps a 18mm.

Definately if the 52mm constraint is retained, a 15mm Loxia is very unlikley. We could see a 15mm Batis though.

But at 15mm, my money is on a new faster Voigtlander, just like they released two 21s. Hopefully with less sample variation and sharper far corners (at least as good as the Sony 12-24). Or alternatively, maybe Sigma will release a mirrorless version of the 14/1.8 at some point.

I'm betting on this! Sigma could design a much smaller 14/1.8 E-mount lens optimized for astro.

Having said that, I am happy with the CV 15/4.5 III for landscapes and the Laowa 15/2 is already very good for astro at f/2.8.

Yup, that's true. The writing is on the wall for their A-mount cameras.... They will follow Betamax to the land of the dodo. In reality though, do we even care which video format ended up winning at this point? DVDs or even Blue-Ray are passé... Sorry for going off-topic, Fred.

Agree that A-mount is getting dirt shoveled on it as I type this. But.

A lot of people don't realize that Beta was/is the ENG/broadcast standard for the better part of the last four decades. Beta may have failed in the home market, but it was a great format for ENG and used heavily around the globe by newsrooms and production companies.

APS-c/s35 is the standard for Sony's cinema cameras (and a few others) - its not going anywhere anytime soon.

What are we missing? A Sony 15mm F/1.4 gm that preforms as well as the 24mm gm, while we are wishing.

Yep.

A 200 2.0 GM, 300 2.8 GM, 500 4.0 GM

A 180 f3.5 macro

A few 1.2 GM primes (35, 50, 85)

A 40 1.4 GM

I’d love a 50 1.4 STF GM

And a few TS lenses: 18 and 110 or thereabouts would do.

Throw in the A-mount glass as well (even if it is a dead mount)

Sony sure has come a long way since October 2013, when it started with this FE lineup:

Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar T* 24-70mm F4
Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* 35mm F2.8
Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* 55mm F1.8
Sony 28-70mm F3.5 – 5.6
Sony 70-200mm F4 G

Sigma should be recognized for their contribution to the APS-C ecosystem, since there wouldn't be much of an ecosystem without them. Zeiss also had the three Touits.

I hope Sony develops some Fresnel lens. Nikon's 300/4 is just about the size of 180/2.8.

Missing lenses:
200 f2
300 f2.8
500 f4
Some more F1.2s (I would never get one, but it will annoy the wide lens mount crowd )
Some more macro options - 180mm or 200mm
A new and improved 24-70 f4.

I'd love to see an improved 24-70/4.

Full frame

Necessary renewals
24-70/4 II
28/2 II

Additional consumer zooms
18-35/3.5-4.5
70-300/4.5-5.6

The remaining gaps
8-15/3.5-4.5 fisheye zoom
200-400/4
14/2
20/2
24/2
28/1.4
100/1.4
200/4 Macro
200/2
300/4 fresnel
300/2.8
400/5.6
500/4
500/5.6 fresnel
800/5.6

APS-C

Renewals
16/2.8 II
20/2.8 II
16-70/4 II
18-105/4 II

New lenses
18-55/2.8-4
16-50/2.8

That is 19 full frame and 6 APS-C lenses, which is a total of 25 more lenses. This should be doable over the span of 4-5 years. No one will be able to touch Sony even in five years, with one mount and good FF and APS-C line-ups. This is of course a thought experiment, and I suppose a line up would look differemt in five years and that there will be surprises. We’ve heard nothing sbout tilt shift lenses, or maybe a bellow system for T/S-lenses could be employed to provide richer movements. Then comes very interesting third party lenses on top.

I'm putting my money on a lox 18 as well.

I'm betting on this too. I love the Sigma 14/1.8 but have found the size (plus filters!) really gets in the way of my using it, so holding out and hoping this happens.
