135mm f2L. It's a perfect focal length for my automotive shooting, and can be used all day long wide open with great results. For automotive shooting, it's pretty much glued to my camera.
17-40L The best price/performance wide angle zoom in my opinion. I use it mainly indoors where wide angle helps. Though the 16-35 is faster, I think for the price, the 17-40L is perfect and hence my favorite lens!!
This time of the year 90% of my pictures are indoor shots making 35mm a good focal length on my 20D. I prefer available light over flash so the f/1.4 is a lifesaver.
I think nod goes to the 50mm f/1.4, edging out my 24-70L by the slightest of margins. The zoom is more versatile but for available light at weddings and live music, what I shoot the most, the 50 rules.Unfortunately when my 85mm f/1.2 arrives tomorrow the 50 might be in danger of losing "favorite lens" status.
I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but I've been making good use of my TS-E 90mm lately. On it's own it's great for almost anything down to near macro, and I can add some tubes and get to 1:1 and beyond. You've gotta love the tilt!
My 17-40 was my "gold standard" then I bought the 24-70. What can I say? The 24-70 has not been seperated from my 20D since I got it a little over a month ago.
I love my 100-400 IS L... I've had it since 1999 and do 95% of my shooting with it. I shoot a lot at the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park and have found it perfect for everything I find there.

Of all, i guess the 300 2.8 IS. But lately i am loving the shots from my 500 f4 IS because i'm shooting a lot more birds since i got it, and i am getting shots i only dreamed of in the past.
My favorite lens of all used to be my 20-35 2.8 which i have replaced recently with a 16-35 2.8. Havent used it enough yet to gather a gut reaction opinion yet.

I am thinking about my first L glass lens though and since the 17-40 (I think F4?) is so popular I have to ask how much they are new and if they show up used frequently anywhere? I saw a 17-40 floating around ebay but they are over 1000 new (which most L glass lenses are) Is there a cheaper F4 version that's around 700 or so?
Also i found a 28-200 F 3.5-5.6 lens for around 350 brand new, would that be something to consider for a walkaround lens? I know 200 is fairly long and the lens might be too heavy? but it seems cheap and covers a huge range so I was wondering if anyone had any input on this lens.
