p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Simple on-camera Canon flash for fill in daylight - but NO RF wireless allowed

I shoot Canon 6D and sometimes in work environment where there is radio silence. Therefore, I need an on-camera flash with *no* RF wireless capability for safety reasons. I want to do great fill flash of workers in sunshine, and sometimes indoors in a trailer.

Thinking of the Canon 470EX-AI, but I dont need the smart bounce capability.

I shoot typically 16-70mm focal length on FF. Wide angle coverage is a must.

ps: sometimes I think that a bare-bulb look with a single point lightsource that would only have a small reflection on safety glasses would be useful -- but for now, I think any flash that will allow me to control fill in sunlight would fit the main need.

Also, I prefer AA batteries to a rechargeable internal pack. I can always use rechargeable AA's.

Open to Canon and Chinese brands. Again, controlling amount of fill-flash in daylight is my main goal.

I've been using a 270EXII which I found at my local camera store used. It seems to do just enough fill for typical casual two up and one up people shots.

It'll fill front on and bounce in a pinch too. What I love about it is it doesn't tip over with an awkward size like normal full sized flashes.

Yes, the manageable size would be an advantage in my work, too. Thanks!

Just make sure you get me that supports high speed sync so that your shutter speed can properly expose background or the sunny cloths etc. Youngnuo are great value.

Good point about the high speed sync for use in broad daylight! I think with 6D that means 1/180 sec.
