I'm thinking about putting my a7r3 up for sale. However, I also own the A9 and cannot tell which of my FZ100 batteries came with which camera. I see a serial number on the battery (on the hologram) but don't see one anywhere obvious on the box or paperwork? Anyone know where it is? (My A9 is under warranty and I want to know I will be covered if the battery fails). Thanks.

I doubt if batteries are ever covered by the camera warranty.

I just talked to Sony support. Batteries are warrantied for a year. According to the support person, as long as you have a receipt for a battery of the same type purchased within a year (either separately or part of a camera), it will be covered under warranty.

So did you ask them how to differentiate?

You can't determine which battery came with which camera. There is no link between the camera and the battery.
