Alright I am having a tiny annoyance issue with round tripping from Lightroom CC Classic to Photoshop CC 2019. I can open and edit the files just fine in Photoshop but before the latest round of upgrades once I saved out the file in Photoshop, Lightroom would automatically switch to the active program. Now the active program just stays at Photoshop's new document screen. Is this a setting I am missing or is the behavior just different?

On a iMac, latest version of Mojave, latest versions of Lightroom and Photoshop.

Thank you,
Chris

I'm trying to understand this. Your concern is PS does not close after saving and the LR screen does not show up automatically? You need to close PS manually.

Or the file is not showing up in LR. It is probably at the end of all your files. In Preferences check this box.

Zenon,

Not quite. My file shows up in Lightroom just fine. Issue I am having is that after I close and save the file in Photoshop, Lightroom does not become the active program like it used to. So now after I save and close the file in Photoshop I have to switch back to Lightroom.

I hope this makes sense.

So I understand: you select the photo in LR, hit Cmd-E, PS opens, you edit, then do >File>save, afterwards click on PS CC top left hand corner, select quit and the result: LR is NOT the current active app showing on the screen?

Bingo! This used to be the behavior. Now I am trying to make the latest versions revert back. Any ideas?

Sounds like an OS issue, not an individual application issue.

Did you have the apps using the same desktop workspace ... or ... are you using one in full screen mode and the other standard mode?

Also on macOS ... using CMD+Tab can toggle you quickly between all open apps.

Using the same desktop, not full screen.

Agree I can just use cmd-tab, but it is just not my muscle memory.

So, using the above process, what happens after you select Quit in the PS drop down?

When I hit CMD-W to close and save the file, I get the Photoshop new file pane.

CMD-W in PS only closes the open photo, it does not Quit the program. Instead, finish your editing in PS then hit CMD-Q it will ask you to save, click on it, then PS will completely exit and you'll be back in LR.
