This set was photographed at the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside NY on a cloudy day.

-1 Chick is feed a dragonfly

-2 Adult begins to fly backwards

-5 Adult feed second chick a second dragonfly. How did it catch two of them?

This is the first time I've seen a bird fly backwards where the wind was not the cause. Catching and share two dragonflies is another surprise.

This is a great series Morris!
The first and third photos are so very cool, as you get a nice look at all three birds.

Nothing like having this happen right in front of you. I'm glad my camera has a near infinite buffer as backing up took a long time
