p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Viewer for all image files

Hello,

I have been using ACDSEE for a long time, just to view my image library. I could fairly compare my Canon RAW images and others. Could choose multiple images to compare, also 1:1.
I don't use it for editing because DxO PhotoLab 2 does a far better job.
Recently I bought a Olympus OM-D EM 1 Mark II and all goes well with that too.

However after buying the Sony A7 III I only get embedded JPG from Sony's RAW files. When going to 1:1 I just get enlarged JPG. It is supposed to be supported but there are more complains. Newest version (2019) has the same problem. Contacted their support but after complaints going back to 2018, I don't feel confident it will be addressed soon.

Since I'm in the process of changing my Canon gear for Sony I need a good reliable image viewer, which let me compare the true Sony RAW files and my older files. Want to be able to compare multiple shots, also 1:1.

Any suggestions for a similar program that does support all common RAW files?

Capture One Express is free for Sony cameras. Their RAW rocessing is terrific, arguably the best and you can organize a catalogue.

Others have mentioned Sony Viewer/Edit/Remote package which is free, and Capture One Express for Sony which is also free.

You may want to add PIE by PicMeta, since it provides in-depth metadata in addition to being a viewer. The free version does everything except allow editing metadata. This is the only way I know to see the Auto-focus metadata, which I consider to be a major shortcoming with all the other image management/viewers/editors.

I like FastRawViewer from a quick look. But unfortunately it doen't have a compare of images option. I read it's in their todo list but it's a pity it isn't there. Will try and have a closer look at it in the next weeks, it's not expensive at all.

Thanks!
