Thank you Michael My understanding is the 20/1.8G is one of the gems in the 1.8G lineup.

Manchego, if I'm getting fancy...

Nothing as quality as your shots, but a few samples from the 16-50 on the Z6. It's just a fun little combo.

IQ seems very good, a little softness in the corners at 16mm f/3.5, get a bit better at f/4 and looks good at f/5.6. But its not so bad as to ruin a shot either. Good flare resistance, some LoCA but only really see it close up. Weird sunstars, wondering if it might be EFCS? But didn't test with/without, regardless it's got a giant vertical band in all shots I haven't seen before.

Otherwise I mostly bought it for use like my ugly mug below, close up with the kids at 16mm f/3.5 (same as I used the 24-70/4 most of the time), and I think I'll like the results there.

I am not sure where the giant vertical band you mentioned is. Anyhow, are these shot as DX crop mode? It must be the smallest Z lens to put on albeit not a full frame, until the pancake shows up.

Look at the last shot. Anything with the sun in it showed that single large stripe of "sunstar" and it was always in that orientation.

Yes, all in DX mode, you don't have a choice to take it out of DX for better or worse. It's quite small but it's also large than you might think. The elements aren't huge though, so probably more a "limitation" of the large mount, it's bigger than it needs to be for a lens like this. I never really like collapsible lenses but it works.

Got it. Now I put the sun star and band together. I was looking for severe vignetting of some sort. Too bad we don’t get to play to shoot FX with DX lens like on DSLRs.

Lol!!! Thanks.

It's a fun "little" body. By & large, it shoots just like my Z6, but it seems to be just a tad better in the AF arena. It's certainly no D500, D850, etc., but it is quite usable and the IQ & elevated ISO performance are well above average.

Paired with the 500PF, it's about as small & light weight as a rig could get for this sort of shooting.
