A Silky sifaka (Propithecus candidus) with it’s baby hanging in a tree in Marojejy National Park, Madagascar. With fewer than 250 mature individuals it’s one of the most endangered primates in the world!
Major reasons for their decline include: massive hardwood logging (habitat loss) and poaching.
With a team of 5 guides, and porters we traveled over 30km traversing challenging trails high in the jungle with cameras at the ready I only had a quick window to snap this shot which was the highlight of the expedition.
