I guess what bothers me about the series of similar pictures that you have posted is the pond scum and dirty looking birds. It may be natural but it is certainly not attractive. Nor is it what I am used to. We have an endless parade of geese and swans on Long Island, in fact they are really pests, crapping everywhere. At least the local waters are not so scummy and the birds are clean and white.

Subject is cute.
Processing is very dark, but lightening it as done above unfortunately doesn't enhance the appeal as Jim described.
So, dunno what to suggest.

It is a nice moment, more in the natural history territory than the aesthetics side as already mentioned.
However, if the swan was coming head on towards the viewer, that would be a great view, even with the pond scum.
