Please meet Athena the resident Great Horned Owl at Lady Bird Wildflower Center in Austin, Texas. She has nested in same planter (10-feet above entrance) for 9-consecutive years, She had one owlet this year who is expected to fledge in a day or so. This image shows Athena in a nearby tree keeping an eye on the owlet who is still in the nest.
