p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Deleting Nested JPEGs in Lightroom

In the past, when I shot RAW+JPEG, I would import them into Lightroom as single images (i.e., leaving the "Treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate photos" check box UNCHECKED in Lightroom preferences). Well, now I want to go back and delete a lot of the nested JPG files. I tried simply deleting the JPG files (well, moving them temporarily), and Lightroom still shows them as being there in the catalog (i.e., "NEF+JPEG").

Anybody know a way I can delete the nested JPGs cleanly, and hopefully simply, so that they're gone, and the Lightroom catalog no longer shows presence of a nested JPG? I searched the net and found a somewhat drawn out procedure for LR4, but I guess I'm hoping Adobe has built in an easier means, or that somebody has come up with one...

Hi Jromie
The second response in this link shows a way using synchronize that might be a good option for you to consider:

Hope that helps

Wow, John. Such an embarrassingly simple fix. And it worked too! Thanks much for the help.

Glad that worked for you JRomie. It may be simple yet far from intuitive and not easy to track down the steps to take. More embarrassing for Adobe to have a feature as raw + JPEGs (with JPEGs as sidecars and not really accessible) yet no easy or documented path on how to dig oneself out of that hole. Just my opinion of course.
