Amazingly sharp! Your photos have me learning toward the 400mm 2.8 III, rather than a longer lens that is more difficult to travel with. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot Rob! The bird is sharp and the BG is clean.
I have found that 2x extenders on Canon prime lenses can produce images with excellent sharpness; however, I'm often not satisfied with what the 2x does to the BG. You managed to get a very clean background for this image.
