I love to show large flocks of birds in the air, particular when I can fill the frame with them. Notice the patterns they create, the contrast and interesting things about individuals. When I first arrived at the West End of Jones Beach I watched as the only person around, a photographer repeatedly scared the birds into the air. There flight reminds me of starling murmurations and I took photos of this and while they document it, I don't love any of the images. Possibly I should have taken video. After the photographer left the dunlin settled down on the beach and I spent about a hour getting close till a peregrine falcon sent them into the air. I've already shared photos of the falcon.

Excellent images, Morris! There is no shortcoming of sandpipers, for sure. I love #2, 3 and 6.

Number 6 for me! Really like the chaotic symetric feel of it.

Thank you Tim,
The birds flock to NYC just like people do. It can get very crowded, particular during migration as we are on the Atlantic Flyway

These are all really good. For me, a very different approach to shorebird photography. Opened my eyes and vision!
