1 Intergrade Northern Flicker. It is part Red shafted and part Yellow shafted Flicker.

2 Female Hairy Woodpecker

3 Male Hairy Woodpecker

4 Male Downy Woodpecker

5 Male Northern Flicker, Red shafted sub-species.

6 Female Downy Woodpecker

7 Red-breasted Sapsucker

8 Female Pileated Woodpecker

Hi Karl. Thanks for commenting. They are one species, Northern Flicker. The Red shafted is in the west. Male has red mustache, salmon pink or red under tail-wing and no red patch on back of head. The Yellow shafted is in taiga and eastern part of North america. Male has black mustache, yellow under wing-tail and red patch on the back of head. This bird is a combination of both. It has red mustache and red patch and mirky yellow under wing-tail. It was shot through double pane tinted glass, so is soft on focus.

Very nice. I am still working on some of the common local woodpeckers. I especially like the Pileated shot. Very nice to see it on a small perch.
