p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Migrating Snow Geese

Every year thousands of snow geese migrate along the Atlantic Flyway passing through New York City during the fall migration in late February and early March. I've seen the sky filled from horizon to horizon with them. This set was taken last February at the West Pond of Jamaica Bay National Wildlife Refuge. The light is in the wrong direction for the second image yet I love the juxtaposition of the World Trade Center and the geese so I've included it.

Nice set, Morris! The second photo is my favorite. I like the World Trade Center included in the photo. The contrast between the natural vs. technological world works!

I miss the snowy geese which were a mainstay when I lived in the mid-atlantic. While we have Sandies here in the Midwest, I miss the sheer mass and beautiful white. Nice job.

Thank you Pius,
Some day I'll be lucky enough to capture them in numbers like this in the morning so the buildings are illuminated by the sun
