p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Iceland on March winter - KIRKJUFELLSFOSS

Hi, planning to go next month for 7 days. Is the KIRKJUFELLSFOSS accessible during this time? Is it still covered with ice? Is the water still running or it is frozen this time of the year? Appreciate if you can share current photos taken so i have an idea what to expect. Thanks in advance

I was in Iceland March 17-25 in 2015. March is a really good time to be in Iceland if you are planning to shoot the auroras, ice caves, glacier beach, go dog-sledding, do a glacial walk, etc. Parts of the waterfall may be frozen, but for the most part they are not and there are lots of water at the waterfalls.

We did not go to Kirkjufellsfoss because of road closures due to severe wind storms. Be very careful opening a car door when there are strong winds. We literally broke a door hinge of our rented VW van and nearly ripped off the door at the back of the van! We've had to drive to a VW workshop to get the door hinge replaced.
