meadow lark in flight. I usually go for wings up or down but I kind of liked this one since it looks like a bullet. A bit challenging to swing the big six with these speeders, I am hoping to get more song birds in flight with 500PF, hopefully will get to try it soon

Shot with D850 and 600E FL + 1.4X III. ISO 1250 f/5.6 at 1/3200 sec hand held. Processed with Capture One Pro 12. BTW depending on your monitor you may see some posterization in the BG FROM JPEG compression, not much I can do about it

the bird is in "cruise mode" - some birds will use this as a sort of rest mode in the middle of flapping flight

with some work a Gloggle search can pull up some photos or videos by scientists who study bird flight; there is even a X-ray video tho dunno if on internet
