Thanks! This seemed like it would be a good tool, but for whatever reason it simply won’t transfer to my iPhone or iPad. It’s creating a folder for the transfer since I’ve found a dozen from my attempts, but it aborts the transfer after two seconds. I’ll keep playing around, but thanks for bringing this app to our attention.

Hmmm, that's strange. It's working for me. Are you doing the user-imitated FTP where you tell the cameras which photos you want to transfer or the Auto-transfer mode? I assume the former since folders are being created. Try the auto-transfer mode as well, which sends the files as you shoot them. That will help us troubleshoot the issue.

Thanks Holger, but I'm not sure that his video answers all my questions. Thanks for your help anyway. I will wait for the actual firmware release.

I actually meant Focus Bracketing, since I prefer to stack in post. Olympus does both of these, as well, and are a good reference, since their method works nicely. They do both bracketing and in camera stacking.

Yes, "focus bracketing" in Olympus terminology is what I thought you meant, since it gives you the raw files to assemble on your computer.

It's three years since I sold my Olympus gear, so I'm a bit rusty on their terminology now.

I don't know if it's something interesting for other people than xpfloyd and me but :

At 4 : 16, he clearly states that the new face/eye AF can still be assignated to a separate button. If it's true it's a very good news.

Because when I see this... https://3.img-dpreview.com/files/p/sample_galleries/6925092299/5252690433.jpg

... except if there is a user error, it makes me think that face / eye AF can still miss the target and lock on a more contrasted zone if the face itself is not properly exposed. It's the shiny hairs on this picture, it's often the hairs.

So be able to promptly activate / deactivate it to use a single point AF is a good news.

The DPreview image you posted is certainly a tough challenge! Much like all those tree branches against bright sky samples we saw from the same group of reviewers when they attended the GM 24 event. Turns out the GM is a bit more than a fantastic lens regardless of all those horrible purple-filled Muir Woods scenes the invited Press posted at the time.

However, duly noted and something I will try for myself as soon as I get the FW update. Very good point about being able to easily activate/deactivate. While I am very excited about the new AI, it has crossed my mind more than once if I would have the ability to control as needed. Regardless, looks like a workflow adjustment will be needed. At least for me.

Yes, I agree that it's a very tough challenge ^^

But I've noticed (with current firmware of course) that in this kind of situation, a single point AF can sometimes get the job done when face and eye AF give up and "cheat" to give this kind of results, by focusing on a high contrast area that makes the face itself blurry.

I don't say that it works all the time of course. But at least, if I'm able to use single point very fast to check if it locks better than eye and face AF, I would have no regret.

Darn..supposedly out tomorrow and shooting games today. Shooting the 100-400mm/1.4TC might allow for better AF at f/9 and the ability to stop down another stop. Automatic eye autofocus. I wonder if this will change the way I shoot sports.
