I believe this is the light house station on Ivory Island where you cross Milbanke sound heading into Bella Bella and Shearwater. I've taken this same photo a number of times as I've passed through. The whole central and northern B.C. coastal area is beautiful and I always enjoy going through it. The bridge to the mainland was under construction when I came through in October of '16. At the same time there was a tug that ran up on the rocks on the opposite side of Seaforth passage and man there were a lot of boats and barges and aircraft working that site.
Nice shot of a familiar location. I can't wait to get back there.

Thanks everyone. I think this is about 30 miles south of Ivory island, and closer to Goose Island.

My observation wasn't to correct, but to acknowledge a familiar location as the original post didn't name the island. One of these days I'll get to be there with better light, but it seems that I always end up passing Ivory Island in mid-day. The same is true of Boat point where the Canadian Coast guard has a station a ways north of here. Unfortunately my travels in the area have always been with boaters who have different priorities than I so I simply shoot as opportunity presents and live with whatever lighting is available at the time. That said, I've had some fantastic light while tucked in for a night or to wait out weather.

If you look at a satellite photo of the main part of the island (which is less than one mile in diameter) you can make out the small bridge connected to this extension of the island as tiny red dots due to the roof colors. But you are referring to a different bridge connecting to the mainland? I suspect that those structures shown house lighthouse employees and perhaps family(ies) only.

I could be wrong, but it sure is an idyllic location.

The cloud formations balanced your composition very nicely. I also like the cloudy diffused lighting.
