I took this morning off and went out to the river to look for some eagles. I saw several in town, but I was heading out into the country to a small river that I've had some good luck at. On the way, I drove down a road that we've seen some short eared owls on to see if I could catch them hunting. It had started to get foggy before I left town, but it really got heavy out in the country. I saw these trees in a cow pasture as the sun was breaking through the fog and had to stop to take some shots. As I was photographing the trees I started to hear some howling. A couple of miles away is a wolf sanctuary and the wolves must have been excited about the sunrise too. They howled for a few minutes as I was shooting, which gave a pretty eerie feeling. There were no other cars out so it was pretty quiet except for the wolves. Anyway, let me know what you think of these shots. They've only been imported to light room with the standard sharpening and color noise reduction. I will spend some time playing around with the files, but I liked the way that these looked as they were.
