p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · LE NR Question
I've recently been playing with 2-4-5-12 minute exposures (daylight, terrestrial subjects - when I do astro I stack, etc).
I've been leaving LE NR turned on (Canon 6d Mk2) - this takes a dark frame and does subtraction in camera - but doubles exposure time. I've read about taking a dark frame with the lens cap on (and maybe covering the camera) - what do folks here do?

I just do a cap on dark frame. I've not heard about covering the camera though.

I would put the lens cap on and perhaps find a way to cover the viewfinder. At night light leaks are less common, but to reduce the possibility of one during the day, that viewinder prism may be a target.

Thanks for the replies. I will give a shot at the lens cap - although that means pulling the filter and ring and then shooting the dark frame....
