Here is a selection of birds from Costa Rica. All were taken on the photo tour I lead to the areas best bird hotspots in October. 1)This first one is a Roadside Hawk drying its feathers after a downpour. Many photographers seem to avoid Costa Rica during the "wet" season but I find that this is the best time to be in that country. The birds are more active and the rain makes for some unique images. Canon 5D Mark IV and Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens.
2)Yellow-crowned Euphonia male. A very small and active bird. It took lots of patience and time to finally get a shot of this little bird as he flitted from branch to branch. Canon 5D Mark IV and Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens.
3) Collared Redstart male. Super colorful bird that is also pretty friendly and usually oblivious to people. Really fun bird to photograph. Canon 5D Mark IV and Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens.
4) Great Kiskadee in the rain. A very common bird in Costa Rica but one that does offer fun and unique image potential. See what I mean about the potentially great images when it's raining?
