Not sure how many viewers are familiar with Madera Canyon, AZ, but it's about the best place for hummingbirds in North America.
(Naturally, South America rules, but hey, this is the best I can do here in the U.S. ).
Very nice captures! Looks like I have a trip to make...it's only a few hours from my house. It's hard to pick a favorite from the series... #5 and #7 jump out at me...very nice images all around.

You're lucky. Arizona has some great birding. A friend turned me on to several places in Madera Canyon and Patagonia. Will be going back in mid-April, so I'll shoot you a PM and see if you'd like to join.

Sounds like a plan... count me in I was planning on going down to Ramsey canyon next year... so.. pretty much same area/location.
Well captured...only the Rivolis and broad billed (commonly)are not in Central Oregon but we also have Callioples & some Costas. My male Anna is still around with temps getting close to 0f.

Mike, the best times are the first three weeks of April ... and the first two weeks of September ... as the Monsoon rains tend to occur then ... and, when they do, the abundance of verdure and avifauna will delight

These are spectacular hummingbirds! Have seen only a couple of these in the past, sounds like Madera has a good number of species that awaits for us!
