Thank you all for your comments, it was definitely fun shooting this guy and he really was cooperative.

Each time I've visited Ding Darling we have run into this guy or his brothers. 1st time it was at the entrance to the drive as we were making payment he kept walking down the middle of the road like he owned. This time it was on the cross dike trail between the road and the pavilion, initially in the trees, see post "Yellow Crowned Night Heron", but he then flew down to the beach area of the slew within 10-15 ft. After 10 minutes we left but he remained rooting along the bank.
