I was walking around Oakland Lake here in New York City when this great blue heron flew in. It landed in a spot that can only be seen from across the lake and light rain was falling making for dark and obscured conditions. I was shooting with my X-T3 with 100-400 and 1.4x TC. I pulled back for the first, the others are crops.

Some have asked if the X-T3 has the tendency to focus on busy backgrounds rather than the subject. I have not experienced this and the background here is as busy at it can get. It is still early to say for cretin yet early use makes me believe it will not happen. I'll write a comparison of the X-T3 and D500 in a week or so.
Comments and suggestions welcome,
Morris
