A friend convinced me to go on a photo outing in the Netherlands, and further north. I would never have thought there were so many photogenic places there! (and we just scratched the surface).
Here are a few from Zaanse Schaans, which is overrun during daytime with tourists, and during early morning with photographers, but strangely quiet late at night:

We stopped at midday on the Afsluijtdijk (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afsluitdijk).

...I decided to climb down the dyke, slipped and fell on my elbow on some pointy rocks. I went on shooting for another 15 minutes. I would have liked to eliminate the rocks from the composition below, but I didn't dare go further:

After my friend had a look at the gash and said "hospital, now", I had an amazing opportunity to compare first hand the Dutch and Belgian healthcare systems.
Dutch system: highly efficient, in and out of the hospital in 1.5 hrs, six stitches, paracetamol prescription, a very friendly doctor who said "you're fine now, you can do anything you want, even swimming".
So I did. Not swimming, but continued the photo weekend (see below). And by Sunday night the wound got properly infected.
Belgian system: took 2.5 days to fully deal with the issue, including minor surgery under general anaesthetic. On balance I still prefer the "bumbling organisation but we'll actually fix you" system.
