I got up early this morning and drove about 2 hours to go on a hike to visit the Umtanum Creek Falls. I kept an eye on the weather and it was showing overcast until about 10am before the sky would become clear. So I left before sunrise and got to the spot around 7:30am. Luckily it's not a very long hike (only 3 miles round trip) so I'd have a little while to shoot with favorable light. The hike itself wasn't too bad, there was a 50-foot stretch of a mud pit just before the end. Luckily there was a fallen tree on the side to walk on (assuming you have decent balance).
When I reached the falls I was at the top of them and scouted a way to a view of them. Eventually I worked my way down to the base. Unfortunately, I didn't have any boots to walk a little ways into the punchbowl but I made do.
I used a CPL and 6-stop ND filter on the EF-M 11-22mm lens for this shot.
